Cookies and Similar TechnologiesThis section explains how /smart-balance.by (“we”, “us”) uses cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage and similar technologies on our website. It should be read together with the rest of this Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include pixels (for measurement), local storage (to remember settings) and tags loaded via Google Tag (gtag) or Google Tag Manager.
Why we use them (purposes)
- Strictly necessary – to run the site, keep it secure, apply your language and consent choices, enable the checkout, prevent abuse (e.g., bot protection, reCAPTCHA).
- Analytics – to understand how our site is used so we can improve performance and usability (aggregated statistics).
- Advertising & attribution – to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and attribute conversions; we do not run personalized ads unless you consent.
- Functionality – to remember optional preferences (e.g., language or form state).
Legal bases
- Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of legitimate interests and/or performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
- Analytics, advertising and personalization cookies are used only with your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time; this will not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Consent and Consent Mode v2We follow the EU ePrivacy rules, Google’s EU User Consent Policy and Consent Mode v2.
- When you decline analytics or advertising cookies, tags operate in a limited, cookieless mode.
- Signals ad_user_data and ad_personalization are sent only when consent is granted.
- You can change your choices at any time via the “Manage Cookies” link (see below).
What we (may) set – indicative list
The exact cookies depend on your choices in the banner and can change as providers update their libraries. Typical cookies we use include:

- Security & anti-bot (Cloudflare): __cf_bm, __cfruid. Retention: session / up to 30 minutes.
- reCAPTCHA: _GRECAPTCHA (spam/abuse prevention on forms). Retention: up to 6 months.
- Google Analytics 4: _ga, ga<container-id>, _gid (usage statistics). Retention: _ga 2 years; _gid 24 hours.
- Google Ads / attribution: _gcl_au and conversion tags (store ad click info to measure conversions). Retention: up to 90 days.
- Site preferences (first-party): e.g., language or cookie-banner state. Retention: up to 12 months.
Third-party recipients and transfers
Where you consent, limited data may be shared with our measurement and advertising partners (e.g., Google Ireland Limited for Analytics and Ads). Some processing may involve transfers outside the EEA; in such cases, transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
Managing your choices
- Use the cookie banner or the “Manage Cookies” link in the footer to review or withdraw consent at any time.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do so, strictly necessary cookies may still be required for the site to function.
